Are you art lovers tired of going to London for your art-appreciation fix? Well, if you are then you should look to Scotland to provide you with a new and exciting look into the world of art.

"Art buffs may want to take a UK holiday to Scotland", it has been suggested by a leading art-holiday provider.

Glasgow is home to many attractions relating to the artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh, according to its tourism authority.

A bus tour of important sites relating to the man is available every summer, so it's definitely worth checking out if you're in Glasgow over the summer.

With a running audio commentary, describing the city, being played you are sure to soak up lots of interesting facts and information about Scotlands largest city. Tickets for the bus cost around £8 for adults, but children under the age of five can hop on completely free of charge.

Those who wish to explore on foot can do so on walking trips around the destination – these are held on selected dates in June and September every year.

A special deal is also offered to fans of the architect, where for £12 tourists can gain unlimited use of the subway and selected bus services in the region between 09:30 and 23:59 BST.

"With over 300 events and activities taking place across the country celebrating Burns and some of Scotland's other great contributions to the world, there will be something for everyone."

The Museum of Transport could also be worth a look for those who wish to learn more about the history of vehicles used in the area.

"It's a great place to come and see the history of transport in this area" said a local.

So it seems that Scotland is a great place for Art buffs to get away, but if you like what you hear and aren't a particularly arty-person, then speak to a travel agent or look online for some great deals on Scotlands holidays.
