British holiday-makers are still optimistic about their holiday prospects even as the recession continues to deepen, a recent poll conducted by Be Wiser Insurance concludes.
Despite financial challenges increasing for many 47% of those recently polled at www.bewiser.co.uk are investing in annual multi-trip travel insurance, indicating their appetite to travel more than once over the next year.
This contrasts with the Office for National Statistics’ declaration that the economy will shrink by a further 0.4%.
Mark Bower-Dyke of Be Wiser Insurance commented: “Regardless of how bad the economy seems to get Britons are not willing to give up their place in the sun.”
A further 21% of those polled seem to be more reflective of the pessimistic mood by saving money by buying their travel insurance separately from their holidays but individually for each trip. Buying travel insurance individually is one way to save money for those not intending to travel in the next twelve months.
Only 16% buy their travel insurance with the trip when they book, showing their unwillingness to settle for expensive all inclusive deals.
Mark Bower-Dyke of Be Wiser Insurance concluded: “Holiday makers are shopping around to make sure they get a good price but one with often much higher quality travel insurance cover.”
