Weather in Australia

Someone is telling me that it is possible to go snow ski-ing in Australia.
She has never been there and neither have I.
I do not think that they have snow there at any time of the year.
Any comments would be most welcome and I promise not to say anything to her if I am right

Yes they do have snow and they do have skiing.

They have a very large area of snow. The extent does vary from year to year but in a good year there's more than Switzerland.
