Brilliant. So desperately need rain here.

Where are you ladybirder - I will send you some!
Hove, East Sussex. It misses us most of the time as the South Downs 'protect' us. Bone dry borders, water butts been empty for weeks. Desperate.
Question Author
It rained all day here yesterday, we were given a reprieve today with a lovely sunny warm day but tomorrow .................. don't even ask!
It's so cold here - have had the wood burner on since 4 o'clock.
We need rain too ladybirder, I'm in Kent...a few miles north of you. Am really fed up with watering the garden, a drop of rain would be very welcome here.
Question Author
I don't mind the rain, but the thought that Winter is already on it's way fills me with dread :(
I hate the wintery weather too Ann. If it is forecast to be bad I get the shopping delivered (don't like driving in the winter) so I will end up hardly seeing anyone all day (will be especially difficult this year now that thing 1 and 2 are in school).
Question Author
In Winter I never feel like doing anything, I doze in front of the fire, I'm sure I should have been a hedgehog and hibernated every Autumn LOL :)
It's been raining overnight but sunny during the day, but much colder. I'm feeling fed up already. Autumn is here.
Question Author
I've probably done all my work now for the Autumn, this week we have dug all the borders, worked in 6 bags of compost and manure, split perennial plants and re-planted, now just finished watering ................ so fire here I come, I feel a zzzzzzzzzz coming on :)
Question Author
Think its going to be more like Winter than Autumn this coming week Askyourgran, they are forecasting a frost, I must cover my outdoor tomatoes.
Same here North Herts , we keep getting rain forcast but it never turns up.
Apart from June which was very wet , it has been a dry year.
I haven't had my heating on yet.
Forecast here AGAIN for tomorrow EDDIE but I'll believe it when I see it.
Not putting my heating on till the last possible minute, using the wood burner as himself has access to 'free' wood (it's not seasoned but burns ok, well, it burns brilliantly because it didn't cost anything).
Question Author
We have ours on most evenings - its very chilly when the sun goes in.
We have an official met office weather station just 500 yds from me , look here . So far in September 126 % More sun and 15% Less rain than normal

Matter of principle not to put mine on before October but the older you get the more you feel the cold I think. Less active I suppose.
Question Author
And the clocks go back an hour on 28 October so will be dark at 5pm - ugh! That is nice to look forward to ......... NOT!
