My friend emailed me yesterday and said it was snowing with thunder and lightning where she was. Is this possible? I wasn't sure whether to believe her or not! She was in Chelmsford (Essex) at the time.

chances are shes right. it was awful in suffolk in the afternoon with clouds that were black as night. I was expecting thunder when they passed us

Yes, it is possible. Hailstones are produced in thunderclouds.
