Mr grandchildren are very upset because they see snow is practically everywhere and we haven`t any in Bournemouth, so think yourselves lucky if you`ve children.

Please let us know where you are in the world, and where is yonks?

it's said to come from 'in donkey's years' > 'in yonkeys' dears' > 'in yonks'. Don't know if that's true or not.

To go off on a tangent a bit (but relating to "yonks"), I thought "donkeys' years" came from the fact that donkeys' ears are very long and that "a long time" was drescribed as "the time is as long as a donkey's ears" ... cor, memories of childhood legends!
Have you considered grating polystyrene?
