Vitamins And Blood Pressure Meds
5 Answers
I have been put on Ramipril and Bisoprolol and Omeprazole ( all low dosage).
Can I take my Vitamin B/Magnesium Complex and Omega 3 Vitamin supplements with these BP Meds. I forgot to ask when I was admitted to A&E last week with chest pains. All tests came back negative but my BP was high so was kept in for two days.
I also take Thyroxine.
Since stopping my vitamin supplements I have had two anxiety attacks.

Magnesium has also been shown to be useful in preventing migraine attacks. It's one supplement that many are deficient in. I take it myself...and migraines increase when I don't. So I for one would not refer to taking supplements as wasting money.
Due to low magnesium levels in some people with migraines, magnesium supplements have been used to treat migraines, but with mixed results.
So if your blood magnesium levels are normal, then magnesium is useless in the treatment of migraine.
Pasta...have you had your blood magnesium levels tested before going on supplements?
Vitamin B in all its forms is only effective if you are deficient in one of the B complexes indicated by blood tests.
Yes, by and large supplements are a waste of money, BUT, it is your money to do with it what you will.
