I heard part of the interview on Today by John Humphrys with one of the female judges. She was pathetic - long pauses, couldn't/wouldn't answer the questions.
""And weighty because of the signatories. Four former Law Lords, five retired Court of Appeal judges, a former president of the European Court of Human Rights, an ex-director of public prosecutions and 100 QCs who regularly represent the government."
so...a bunch of old duffers for the most part then...and an ooman rights lawyer, president of the euchr no less, there just had to be I suppose....
It's all very well wanting your country/people to be seen as the nice caring folk, but judges, even ex-judges, should be capable of seeing the larger picture and the possible consequences of trying to be Madam Bountiful. As I understand it refugees stay in neighbouring countries. Otherwise they become economic migrants. So this view of the judges is misplaced/inappropriate. I wish my country to be caring, but not to the extreme of being one of the world's unthinking suckers. One needs to understand one looks after one's base first in order to be able to continue offering help where needed. And the main focus should be on solving the cause of the conflict and helping those staying in camps just over their country's borders.
Apart from that I wonder if the hordes will upset their standard of living, will their children's education be effected, will they have to wait hours in their A&Es, will their community be overcrowded, etc, etc?
Now you know why the countless asylum applications are waved through and valid deportations blocked and overturned. Fifth columnists all, and making a fortune from the legal aid trough. We wouldn't know what was going on if the judiciary had their own way would we andy, apart from what they choose to tell us of course.
Compared to other countries 20,000 is pathetic....
its 20,000 too many....lets wait until it kicks off in the next country and the next and on it goes, and all you bleeding heart liberals etc will keep on saying to take them in....you and your sort seem determined to turn the UK into a thirld world schiiithole
