If I were doing my BLS on a pregnant woman and baby in a squeeshed pram on the street and I asked the ever present but perhaps not very interested PC what badge it was he was wearing,

and he said O we commemorate some deaths in the Force but not dead babies or women

I dont think I would be very impressed

( but I would of course carry on doing my best BLS )

Having recently turned 50 it's been many a long year since I've been referred to as 'kid' but hey, knock yourself out if that's what floats your boat.....

OP reply. Why should anyone be discouraged from wearing their country's flag (or a representation thereof)? Anyone who objects should be exiled forthwith!
In this case, I understand that uniform is uniform, but could not the rules be amended to allow the wearing of a black armband when a policeman is killed whilst executing his duty? Seems sensible to me.
