This drives me mad every year - people start wearing poppies earlier and earlier. The record was broken this year when I saw someone in the audience of Question Time wearing one last night - OCTOBER 15th ! Do these people think that by wearing a poppy so ridiculously early it shows they care more? Don't get me wrong, I fully support the wearing of poppies and what they stand for; but, please, leave it till November.
The lady who conceived the idea of wearing a poppy in remembrance of the fallen, was Moina Michael, an American teacher.
She pledged to "always" wear a poppy.
So, to me, that means you can wear a poppy at any time.
