Thanks to all your inputs, my mechanically challenged other half managed to fix the seep leak ! It makes us feel good not to have had to call out a mechanic and end up spending a fortune. It was, after all, the pipe connected to the drainage that mysteriously had no valve . Bodgey initial installation.
