On Saturday I watched strictly come dancing and one of the tunes played was FLY ME TO THE MOON. The music played by the Dave Arch band was the classic big band arrangement.

I have looked up the size of band on stage and I find it difficult to see how they could produce a 16 piece big band sound without adding backing tracks.

Can anyone tell me whether backing tracks are added to the live band on stage?

Can anyone help on clarifying this point.

I wondered that too on Saturday for another track that was played- maybe Blue Monday and another one that I've temporarily forgotten
I don't watch it, but I would say the band is plenty big enough to produce a traditional Big Band sound without adding backing tracks. I assume the whole band is used on the show?

Otherwise... they do feature a keyboard/programmer, so it would be pretty easy for that keyboard player to bulk out the sound by selecting a horn section setting on his synth.
