Marigolds?
61 Answers
Can someone explain, in simple terms as to the significance and/or meaning of.......MARIGOLDS?
It would appear to be an "in joke" as the word is "knocked about " by a small group of ABers who respond in an obvious knowing and understanding way.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had a friend who went to work in a rubber goods factory in mid-Wales and his first job was packaging on the babies dummies line. A few months later he was promoted to the Contraceptive line and was given a large hatpin and told to count a hundred Contraceptives as they passed him on the conveyor belt and then stick the pin in the next one and so on for each hundred. He had heard stories that one in a hundred had a leak in them (no pun meant!!) and said to the foreman that he was being asked to perform an immoral act. The reply he had was..." You were happy working on the Dummies Line and we need to keep it going; hence we need at least one in a hundred contraceptives to fail."
Hans.
