Anywhere To Leave Baggage
16 Answers
Granddad G will be marching with his shipmates at the cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday. As he will be travelling down on Sat and and changing into his blazer and slacks he will need to leave his mufti while he is marching. He is staying at the Travel Lodge @ Kings Cross. I have tried to get a direct telephone for the hotel to ask if he can leave this and collect it before he gets the train home. I'm sure that if I ring head office they will say no but I thought that the hotel itself might be more obliging.
Or are there any other places that he could leave his civvies?

Sorry but Kings Cross left luggage facility doesn't open on Sundays. It's only open (from 0700 to 2300) Monday to Saturday. However St Pancras station is just across the road from Kings Cross (which is why they share a common Tube station) and has left luggage facilities open from 0700 to 2200 on Sundays. http:// www. left- baggage. co. uk/ index/ locations...

Grandad G should ensure that everything is put into a single bag as left luggage is charged on a 'per item' basis (and, at £11 per item per day, it's not cheap!).
Should you still need a direct phone number for the Travelodge, it's 0871 984 6256.

Some hotels will oblige for a paying guest, especially in these circumstances. I realise some hotels have a no left luggage policy and will suggest you pay a "late check out" fee then hold your bags in the room. I would think a big chain like Travel Lodge have a fixed policy, smaller hotel chains and privately run hotels would likely oblige.
bear in mind, though, the location of the left luggage facility at St Pancras, which is in "The Circle", on the lower level, right up near the access to the "southeastern" platforms. it's a fair step from the Euston Road end, so just need to allow time to do it - but the northern line entrance is at the same end, this will take you straight to charing cross. :-)
Brilliant idea jennyjoan thank you. Unfortunately it wouldn't work in this instance. He is travelling down on Sat; stopping Sat night at travel lodge; needs to be at Cenotaph @ 9.15 in Blazer etc so needs to leave his civvies somewhere while he is marching on the Sunday. He is then travelling home on the Sunday so won't be able to get to a post office
