I can't, however, agree that the House of Lords has any constitutional right to overturn a Commons vote on a Financial matter - I listened to an expert on the subject today. A motion of 'Regret' (is that what it is called?) regarding the Bill would make the Commons reassess.

What I don't understand is the Tories say that they want don't want to make people under tax credits worse off. So if they are serious they will have to not take 30 billion in tax to make sure this happens. They say we can't afford Labour's tax credit burden but how can they afford to take 30 Billion less in tax?
