Software Installation

I have been having trouble loading the software for a Logitech LX700 keyboard/mouse set. I have tried both the disc and from their website, both to no avail. I have been told to disable my Avast anti-virus, spyware and firewall before installation, but cannot find a way to disable the Avast software. Can anybody help please ?

There will probably be some icons for those things (the anti-virus certainly) at the taskbar on bottom-right of screen. Right-click it, and there should be an option to quit it or close it or something like that.
