The Km Links Game - October Week 5 And Final Results

Good morning everyone - bit on the bleak side today and I think the thunderstorm could arrive early ... so much for getting the washing dried !!

Nothing bleak about the points though one match eluded us - even so, a tidy haul to round out the month -

Isn't that odd ....I was expecting the last one to miss out, but several people picked that one up.

The STAR TURN came from ELLIEMAY1 who collected 6 points for three correct matches ...nice going, girl !! and 21 players scored 3 points each, which added very nicely to the overall result.

Ok so this is it for October, and we're really getting to the end of the year and the silly season, next weekend sees the start of a new round and a clean sheet - up to us to fill it all in nicely, so till then stay safe, skz

Seekers Can you please let me know where I can find out what (or where),the rules are for this competition of yours.

Hi SirOracle, and welcome. .... You'll be pleased to know there are no rules as such .....one entry per person, other halves are very welcome too, but I have to draw the line at pets, though over the years some have tried !!

The link words are taken from the Telegrath GK Saturday, and prior to the start of the game, I also post the clues as these sometimes have an impact on the answers.

Then it's up to us to post what we think may be the matching words posted in Mondays Herculis, and when that crossword is online, I use the words to score the game.

Points are allocated at

10 points for all four correct,

6 points for 3 correct,

3 points, for 2 and 1 point for one match.

There's no real certain scheme for selecting the right answers, you can get a feel for what the compiler might put but as you can see, Cooking Apple eluded us all.

There's about 50 - 60 people playing each week, it's a bit of fun and keeps the brain working, all for the good so I look forward to seeing you next week.

I can't believe my score was enough to stay at the top of the board - back to normal next week, I expect.

To add to your scoring method......Is there also a bonus if no one gets the link except you?
ps We play amongst our family evert week and my husband is walking on air this morning as he hit 3 correct Including cooking apple!!

Definitely, cannylad, and when Bitter Sweet came up first i was preparing to dole out the bonus points, then about four more came up with the same.

Btw the family can all join in if they would like to.... Just a thought !!
