Where Does He Stand With Bad Credit Score.
1 Answers
Hi all
To cut a long story short; before my husband met me he was with another partner and the situation arose where a loan was needed for car transport, he gave his ex partner a some of money and it turns out she used it for other things.
Flash forward to when we moved into our first family home in March 2012 he received a letter from a debt company letting him know the final sum hadn't been paid. He agreed to pay a sum of money each month and it would take roughly 14 months to pay off.
Last week he paid to see his credit score and he has "defaulted" each payment (which of course he hasn't) so his credit score is beyond awful. He's spoken to the debt company and apparently there is nothing they can do as until they 28th October this year they FINIALLY checked and updated that the debt had been paid, they are only now agreeing he is debt free! This surely isn't correct?

anyway - in the absence of better quality answers
the credit company is obliged to keep up to date and accurate data
and they havent
so you can ask for a correction ( pretty uncommon I can tell you ) in that they should erase the late entries and substitute 'on time'
he shouldnt speak he should write
and he should arm himself with the £2 credit report from Experian and Equifax and can show his rating is affected
However it sounds that they have corrected their records ....
in which case you have very little to complain about except a record that he was in default when he wasnt ....
// Last week he paid //
he should only have paid £2 - minimum statutory fee
never speak /phone always write - it is so ..... permanent.....
