Why do most (if not all....except pagan based) religions seem to denigrate women to second class status?
Women get a *BAD* rap when it comes to religious beliefs. WHY??
Women are life bearers/givers.

Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a man when I read of how women are treated in religious countries (such as Saudi Arabia).

Theland, Goodlife, Keyplus, and others....your views are outdated and backward. As are your 'scriptures'.

Just had to get that of my chest.
Thanks.

No he didn't. He said that women should be in submission.
Yes, in matters of the spirit.
But women chose the paint for the bathroom.
What an unexpected gloss Theland's put on the OP.. And in such an unexpected area.
//But women chose the paint for the bathroom.//

And clean it too in your house I hazard to guess.

Now that's "equality" at its best.
Theland, so Christianity does denigrate women. Time you - and it - moved into the 21st Century.

V-E, //And in such an unexpected area. //

Highly appropriate though.. :o)
The answer is really, really simple. Men find it much more fun to control women than to control themselves. Religion, which men invented, is the perfect vehicle for this power. Deep down, of course, men's worst fear is that the children they spend time, money and affection on, might turn out to have been fathered by some other man, so controlling women is vital to their manhood.
Just imagine what a world we might live in if only men decided to control themselves instead of women !!!
Coz men had lots of time to mull over while day dreaming on a full stomach & sated hormones from their subservient females.

Today women are less dependant on men to rear kids but I dont think thats good for kids.
I think that this may upset people, sorry. Men are generally lead by their p*e*n*i*s*e*s (gosh, that was hard to type). There seems to be some inbuilt, mental superiority about possessing one.
Last week (half-term) we had 6-yr. old grandson and 4 yr.-old granddaughter for an afternoon. Grandson very seriously told me that he had discovered that granddaughter did not have a pen*is as did he - and he was very worried about this. Where the heck did that come from? He was promptly informed that she had and would have other 'bits' which more than made up.
Oh dear. The P.C. patrol is out in force.
Thou shalt not laugh.
Thou shalt not be humorous.
Thou shalt be po faced.
How wearying.
I don't know what you mean, Theland. Shooting yourself in the foot seems to have engendered some considerable humour here.
Glad to be of service.
I'm flushed.
Good to see God hasn't relieved you of your sense of humour altogether, Theland.
You pulling my chain Nims?
No, I'm not. You've become a miserable bu&&er of late. So much for the joy that religion brings you!
I'm sure you can type penis.
(Puts tickling stick back in box and slinks away.)
