Hamlet spin-off
1 Answers
Some years ago I watched a play performed by a touring school (possibly South African) which was the story of Hamlet from Ophelia's perspective. Salient points were that Horatio actually sleeps with Ophelia, even though he is in love with Hamlet. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are actually women disguised as men who persuade Ophelia to fake her death, disguise herself as a man too and run away so she is free to pursue her own destiny.
I thought the play was called Ophelia's Dream, but haven't been able to find any details on the web about it. If what I've said rings a bell with anyone, please let me know! Many thanks.
