I believe it would be most sensible. At the moment our small planet needs global unification. Too many countries are riddled with separatist factions like tribes of old ( Iceni in our country etc)
We should be aiming to work together

As for your question...hell no. I'm an American living in the UK,and one of the reasons I'm still here after 25+ years is that my country of birth seems to be in serious meltdown. Joining as a "state" as you call it would do the UK no favours...culturally,politically,socially. Those "tribes of old" are part of a country's identity...too much is being erased as it is. And this is coming from someone who favours immigration...as it adds to the makeup and growth of both the UK and the USA. But why be swallowed up by a nation with so many problems?

Sorry for delayed reply.
Both nation fought for Unification. My ancestors were still the Iceni at the end of Civil war. Not erased by said unification.How far on would our species be without the event of The Cold War separatism.United we stand etc.Jaw. jaw. Not War War. Hunger ford , Dunblane ,nutters with guns !
