Appalled that Pudsey Bear is still awaiting important eye surgery.
It's not squandered on admin, imo, money needs booking keeping. Simple as that. You can't expect people to book-keep millions FOC.

It should also be possible to view the accounts of registered charities if you search.

In 1988, BBC Children in Need became a registered charity (number 802052) in England and Wales, followed by registration in Scotland (SC039557) in 2008.
I have no brief for CiN - don't much like it as a way of fundraising - but it does seem to be well run and honest.

86% of the total income goes directly to the 'good causes' - the other 14% is mainly the staff needed to manage the grant making and supervision.
Just checking back to see if the OP (who was so quick to accept an apology on another thread) had had the time to himself apologise for his inaccurate assertions - which were disproved by the replies to this question ...

... apparently not.

I think it may have been your use of the word 'squandered'.
Charity workers can't live on fresh air.

Do you know someone with the required skills and experience who could manage such a large enterprise and would work for substantially less than this, jordy?
I think it all depends on how they perform. People are worth money. For 115k I'd expect that they make that pay justifiable.

It would be great to think that a few volunteers working for free or little money could handle those many Millions of pounds wisely and ensure not only are the sums invested wisely ( by good wise people)while allocations are made but most importantly do it properly.

Thing is, Jordy, if you want the best you have to pay. If he was head hunted because of his performance records then they have to pay him more than he was already earning.
Nor me, jordyboy. Maybe no-one knows anyone suitable who would do it for less. I'm surprised it's only £115,000 for the Chief Exec.
£115K seems, to me at least, a relatively modest salary for such a large organisation.

As has been said if you want a good CEO to serve the needs of the charity and deliver the most effective output it will cost.
He has a 15 year history with the charity, so I am sure he has proved himself during his rise to this position.
