Ok - there are certain details about people that are considered by most to be emotive and prejudicial eg. being a muslim, being gay, being this being that, most balanced and non-biased publications would see fit to leave those details out EXCEPT ***-stirring tabloids like the DM who KNOW it will attract the attention of certain shallow prejudiced types - that's how it works, this is what you are probably referring to as "newsworthy" - perhaps "sensational" would be a better term.
