how to find great hotel prices on the net

We are hoping to go to Honk Kong and Dubai in July. I have managed to save Around �1200 on quoted prices for my flights on the web after much searching. Do you know how to find the best priced hotel deals? The hotels I want to stay at are: the Shangrai La - Kowloon, and the Jumeriah Beach hotel in Dubai.

At the risk of being accused of stating the blindingly obvious, I'll suggest that your first step should be to see if you can get any good prices by booking directly with the hotels:

I used to work in Dubai for a travel company specialising in the sale of the Far East and Dubai to the UK market.

If you ask me the best thing to do is book your flights and hotels seperate. You will achieve a much better price. NEVER BOOK DIRECT WITH AN AIRLINE!! OR THE HOTEL - you will pay whats called rack rates !!!
