I've finally got round to getting one and am after some ideas, preferably not too pricy budget wise.
I fancy trying a recipe out at the weekend so I can be around for most of the time so I can convince myself if it's safe to leave when I'm out at work.
I am out of the house for about 11 and a half hours, would this work with many recipes if it was on a low setting?
It was something to do with someone moaning that whilst she had been in the hospital with one of her children her MIL had been looking after her house and hadn't washed her slow cooker pot out - I think I commented about her 'priorities'.
Eve, if comes out too watery with tinned tomatoes try it with tomato puree instead, or add a couple of fresh tomatoes. Its amazing how much juice is generated by the meat and veg on their own.
the smell is wonderful when you come home after work. Enjoy!!!
I've found it and joined but waiting to see if they accept me as it's a closed group.
I'm just waiting for my stew to cool down (just burnt my mouth being too eager!) so I can try it, smells lovely though!
The recipe said both tinned chopped tomatoes and tomato puree so put both in but might be a bit OTT on the tomato with a full can but I like tomato. Definitely need less liquid last time, tried it with the recommended amount as it seemed to be a personal recipe online rather than a general one but maybe all the tomatoes added to that. I'm having rice with it so it's fine soaking into the rice to use some of it up.
Have plenty for tea tonight and tomorrow, looks fine to fridge when it's cooled and to microwave tomorrow.
If you get one of those dumpling mixes from Sainsburys you can take the lid off for the last 1/2 or so and put them on the top which is a nice addition.
They're great,Eve,gods gift to the single person,my sister bought me my first when I was inbetween my ex and Trish.Just chuck every thing into the pot the night before, switch it on in the morning as I went off to work and come home to a nice hot meal at the end of my shift.
