In case you hadn't noticed, the quip about you being OK is one I use often (mostly with work colleagues) in a sarcastic yet jocular manner because it tends to make the paranoid even more insecure.

Don't worry about it Jan - basically it's one person who is unable to understand a simple explanation, getting al arsey about it, attempting to make out that it is ME that is the thick one, and one of his mates joining in. Rather sad really.
