If half a litre of 5W40 fully synthetic engine oil was used as an emergency top up in a post 2000 small hatch back (fiesta/clio/ka/corsa etc.), what damage could this cause?

Thanks Homer75. A very clear answer! I asked three chaps in Halfords the same question, and got three completely different responses, none of which was positive!

I agree. You can even buy semi synthetic oil which is a mix of mineral and synthectic oil.
