they gave the front parlour to amy for her bedroom after blanche died .so there could be 3 rooms upstairs.
Yes odd how these little terraced houses suddenly expand from a two up two down into a 4 bed roomed house
We went to see the set a few months ago Graeme, it was a good day out, very impressive.
I'd forgotten that Mally - front parlour is an expression you don't here very often these days:-))
Talking about old name Re/ Palour Mosaic, can you remember the Long Drop Loos, the Mangle, The Cold Slab, Army Over coats? many others that may be around.
It's the same with Eileen's house, look at all the adults staying there !
At Eileen's, Eileen and Michael share one bedroom, Todd and Jason share another and Sean has the front parlour. Who have I missed out?
What was Eccle's growling at outside Gail's house? The sweet smell of a decomposing body, perhaps?
How handy having a 'front parlour'. I have a terraced house, but don't have a 'front parlour', just two bedrooms upstairs!

I too wondered if Eccles was smelling Callum's decomposing body. Should be interesting to see how that story pans out.

How come you know all the sleeping arrangements in Eileen's house hc ??

Errr, cos I watch the programme? I remember Michael used to sleep on Eileen's sofa until they became a couple and a few times Jason and Todd have goaded each other about having to share a bedroom.
Sean has had the front room for years.
Well done.
Don't forget, Uncle Albert needs one of his own !
Not to mention the Rovers! How many are kipping there!!!
I call them diamond houses - five up, two down. :o)
Large families did live in small terrace houses and still do
They certainly did. Seven of us, plus mam and dad (when he hadn't left mam) lived in a two-bed terrace. Mind you, I'm going back 50 years or so.
When we lived with my nanna there were 11 of us in a 3 bed terrace with no bathroom and an outside loo...
No bathroom and an outside loo for us too. Ah, the good old days. :o)
....and having an outside loo meant having chamber pots under the beds.
No blankets on the bed, just all our coats, those of us who had a coat. (I can feel the cardboard box jokes coming on). :o)
