I usually adopt from Hillside Animal Sanctuary for Christmas gifts but wondered about other charities. Definately not RSPCA tho'. Just wondered if anyone had any different suggestions, -maybe elephants, such wonderful animals. Or smaller charities which maybe don't get enough support.. All suggestions gratefully received. -rosy
https://www.justgiving.com/oakandfurrows I know this charity very well and I can guarantee every penny donated is spent on helping injured wildlife to recovery and then release back into the wild.
Personally my local independent pet rescue, Margaret Green. Maybe you have similar in your area. My view is a bit tarnished on the huge well known charities, especially as you say RSPCA.

Having known the forerunner of HiIIside when it was a horse sanctuary I wouId not give anything to them. PACT is briIIiant, they work so hard with so IittIe.
Totally agree about Monkey World Canary and as for the RSPCA, local branches need the money as they only get so much help from the Head Office, but if you have a local branch you have to write the cheque out to that branch, i.e. 'name of town' RSPCA to ensure they get the money direct to help the animals in their care.
I also love Animal Defenders International who rescue many wild animals from run down circuses and zoos around the world and place them in as natural a habitat as possible to live out the rest of the lives, free from chains and beatings.
