/// I suppose that's half-true, AOG -- although it could also be left to the imagination, no? ///
Not really Jim, because there are examples of hundreds if not thousands of female stars, starlets and celebrities, strutting the World's red carpets at the various awards etc.
But the ones that Jan Moir has chosen to write her condemnations against, are the more extreme examples, and for that we must see, so as to comment.
Strange how the Male of the species, can get along quite nicely, by all dressing for these events in the more demure evening dress.

I find it ironic in the extreme that a Daily Mail journalist writes a feature complaining about the exploitation of women, when the paper's website - one of the most popular in the world - is almost entirely populated by photographs of women showing their 'toned abs' 'busty displays' 'ample chests and toned curves, 'impressively taut tummies, 'sexy bikini bodies' 'picture perfect posteriors' and so on and so on ...
If you are going to take umbrage at the perceived exploitation of your gender, then find a more appropriate platform that a national newspaper who's website does little else on a daily basis.
The biggest irony of all is that amongst all that pap on the website, there is a link to this very feature!

It is a newspaper which caters for all tastes, and as numerous of sections in which to display them, one does not have to delve into just the 'juicy' ones.
It also has a number of journalists that do not have to toe the papers line, they are free to comment on all matter of things.
That is why it is one of the most popular in the world website.
So don't just use another thread to get over your anti-Daily Mail agenda, stick to the question, as you are always telling others to do.
Or if you wish carry on, and hope that the thread gets removed as most of them where you are involved in do.

AOG - //It is a newspaper which caters for all tastes, and as numerous of sections in which to display them, one does not have to delve into just the 'juicy' ones. //
The newspaper is indeed varied, but the website - which is what my point concerned - is not. It is little but schoolboy titillation with the expressions I quoted - all of which were gleaned from today's offerings.

I know, I have been a Mail reader for over thirty years, but again, my issue is with the point about a senior journalist taking issue with sexism and demeaning apparel, when the website is composed of very little else.

I don't have an 'anti-Daily Mail agenda' - and I think my response is perfectly in line with your OP - it concerns the feature to which you posted a link - as against the website of the same newspaper.

Shall we park that one there? I think so.
