I am sitting here with my Samsung tablet on my knee and the phone held against my ear. I am still waiting for a person to answer the phone. I have been ringing for 27 minutes, so far.
Atrocious customer service!
Does anyone know the 'Complaint department

Hang on, don't hang up!!
Live chat is more responsive
BT= absolute shockers
Like wired says...have they got live chat. Live chat usually takes seconds.
Tilly....do what we did - leave. We have our telephone and broadband with John Lewis now and customer service is - as you would expect - first rate.

^ Sorry about my post not being completed. I think I nodded off. It was meant to finish with'Does anyone know the Complaints Department phone number?'

I wanted to make a query about my bill. Would live Chat have been able to deal with it?

I did get through, eventually, after 32 minutes of 'Sorry your call has not been answered. We will answer your call as soon as possible.' They don't even tell you how long the queue is.
I was going to order a Sim card and phone from them but they can go and whistle!

I have earache now. Can I sue them, do you think?

Ginge, Mr T likes the BT Sports package. I might suggest to him that he looks elsewhere.
Try calling 0179 359 6931

That won't be a free call will it Chris? Suppose I'm hanging on for another 32 minutes.
If you've got a BT package you probably get free evening calls to 01, 02 & 03 numbers anyway.
Question Author
O.K. Thank you for that.
What number are you ringing.
^^^Whatever number it is/was, it's too late now 'cos they close their lines at 8pm!
Question Author
Tambo, I rang 0800 100 400
The phone number for billing enquiries (given on the BT website) is 0800 800 150.

Chris, I think that whatever number you ring, you still have to go through the palaver of ' Tell us the nature of your call, so that we can put you through to the person who can help you most. Please enter the telephone number you are calling about........etc. etc.'

Two unfortunate rules in life:

1. Anyone who works for a company in the 'communications' sector is totally unable to communicate with that company's customers;

2. Anyone who works in 'customer service' is totally ignorant of what those words actually mean.

So, regrettably, the chance of getting genuine 'customer service' from any 'communications' company is always extremely slim :(

Excellent logic there, Chris.
