Problem is, Corbyn got 250,000 votes to be leader, and Andy Burnham, who the MPs want, got a paltry 80,000. He has a huge mandate from Party members, so he does not need to resign.

The Parliamentary Labour Party is stuffed full of Blairites, but to most of the Labour Party members, Blairism is a dirty word.

Well he was voted in by the party faithful so that must be respected. Perhaps they all agree with him in which case what is the problem. The party wont be electable because, as we all know, it is middle England that decides that not the party faithful on either side.

I predict Labour will win this by-election. The Majority last time was far too high to swing to another party.

Majorities are usually cut in most by-elections, and I predict this one will be more than halved. UKIP could win, but it is unclear how their general election failure will affect their following. The Labour candidate is leader of the local Metropolitan Council, so is well known locally.
