There Should Be A Law Against Retailors

announcing/advertising large discounts for goods, when in fact its not true.
Yesterday while shopping on-line with Groupon, there was a home indoor security camera that you can check from your Iphone from work etc for £30.00
It stated there was a 77% discount, saving you over £100, in fact the same product was on sale at Amazon and Ebay for roughly the same price, and no mention of save over £100 etc.
Why are they allowed to lie to the public?

I just shop round, compare and only buy what I had planned to anyway.
Yesterday I had an email....
•• 50% off everything!!! *
•• turned out to actually read 'up to' in print so small even my magnifier couldn't read it.
* Meant 'selected lines only'
They just hope we'll fall for it.
