02 Text Scam?

I don't have an 02 phone, never have.

I just had a text, supposedly from 02. from 83201

02; Your Airtime plan for this month is 214.78 GBP and your Device payment comes to 220.00 GBP to view your bill just go to www.02.co.uk/my02/bill.

Turn off your wifi and you won't need a username or password.

Both payments will be on or soon after 15/11/2015. Thanks

I've put the number into Google and there seems nothing there to say its a scam.

Does anyone know anything or anyone who is txt in the manner please.

Anything with GBP is a scam

I'm sure I've seen things written that way many times. Never thought of it as a scam!

If it says GBP it comes from abroad. Otherwise it would say pounds sterling or just £.

Of course it sounds a lot, I don't use that much in a year on my Tesco mobile.

I have deleted it and blocked the number.

Things like this are a bit unnerving tho when your bit old in the toof ...

As a rule of thumb, whether it be text or email, if it contains GBP delete at once

Another tip, if you get an email addressed to you by the first part of your email address before the@, that is also spam or scam.
