It looks like a genuine bad edit. It starts with a a double speech mark " and ends with a single ' .

A bit worrying that an MP is capable of such sloppy writing.
As far as I could see, she did not apologise. She should do.
MPs of all parties have demonstrated time and again that they are too stupid for social media, and Party managers should forbid them from using it.

Ludwig, I did mean 'rusty gate' but as there is no edit I couldn't change it.

He sent a perfectly reasonable e-mail and she tried to make him out to be heartless troll who wishes people dead, an apology should be made.

I posted this as an experiment ... had this been a Labour politician I think the pack would have been out in force.

I disagree that it was a perfectly reasonable email talbot. It was childish and nasty. The kind of thing that belongs on Answerbank, but not in serious correspondence with your MP.

I still haven't forgiven the media for passing up the only ever chance they'll get to call something 'GateGate', and going with 'Plebgate' instead.
