old computer game

i once had a demo disc from a pc mag must have been 8 years ago now, on it was a game, the game was set as a 3rd person, you watched from above as you went round and basicly killed people. you had an array of wepons, like petrol bombs and machine guns, it was quite odd, think you were a phicopath on the run, i cant rember the title, if anyone has any ideas on what it was called it would be very helpfull.

It sounds like the game Postal, and there is a 1st person sequel, called rather predictably Postal 2, which is a very funny if politically incorrect game.

Could have been Max Payne, although I think that was 1999 or 2000 although saying that demo versions are usually released much earlier than the completed version anyway.
