Mouthwash
10 Answers
I bought some medicated mouthwash which had the word "cool" in the name, but I found that when I used it my mouth felt as if it was on fire. The effect was ( temporarily) quite painful and unpleasant.
Are there any gentle medicated mouthwashes which don't have this burning effect ? Are there any ingredients I should avoid ?

I use Dentalux which I think is Spanish but is sold by Lidl amongst others, the alcohol concentration being lower than most.
It is the alcohol that is the useful agent.

Two points....Sqad's recommended Dentalux is ONLY available at Lidl, because it's a Lidl-owned brand-name.
Yes, you need to avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol if you don't want that "burning" sensation. The most widely available in the UK is Dentyl two-phase ...available Boots, Superdrug, most supermarkets. Some unusual flavours and no burning-sensation at all!
