Tv Licence In Deceased Husband's Name

I have just paid the annual tv licence fee with a credit card in my name.
I tried to change the name on the website from my husband's to mine but it states that he must write to them to change it, and unfortunately he is dead.
I know I can't go on indefinitely like this as at his 75th birthday there is a reduction I think, but in the meantime, just ignore??

Next time you get the reminder in your husband's name just ignore it and apply for a licence in your name.

I am sorry for your loss. If you send them a copy of your late husband's death certificate with a covering letter there should be no problem.

This was very common in the seventies
and I am sorry this has persisted and what fifty years later at what must be a sorry and sad time for you.

In the end my mother and I practised my late father's signature....

when I confessed to my evil evil actions about fifteen y later a listener exclaimed - o gd I had to do that with my dads driving licence as well !

It is the address that is licenced NOT the person. You are fine do not worry about it.
Next year just apply for a new licence in your name. Use the procedure to get a new licence not a renewal of the old one.
