Can someone explain in plain English this situation with the EU. I don't follow politics and it goes over my head sometimes.

But what I understand is that, Cameron wants to stop people coming into the country from claiming benefits for 4 years. Why is the EU so opposed to that. From what I understand and I could be wrong, most of these countries don't have a benefits system in place!!! So why is the EU so up in arms about this. Are they willing to install a benefits system and pay out in their own country??

If I have got the wrong end of the stick, please let me know.

The opposition to it comes from representatives of countries like Poland, obviously because so many of their citizens benefit from the arrangement.
