Topfield 5800 Dual Tuner Hard Disk Recorder

I have bought one of the above, and on trying to set it up, I keep getting a message saying NO SIGNAL AT TUNER1. Have followed the manual's instructions, but cant get it right. Anyone got one of these, or can offer a suggestion please? I have a digital aerial fitted, and my previous freeview box worked fine.

Have you used the cable supplied to link the top RH to the bottom LH aerial sockets with the main lead into the top LH.

Its not very clear in the instructions.

Thanks for reply. My husband says he has tried every way, he tried doing as the manual instructed, then he printed off a document from the internet, which gave him different instructions, but nothing seems to work.

We have spoken to the supplier of the Topfield, who said he thinks it is a problem with our aerial, but I don't think it is, because we had a freeview box installed previously, together with a digital aerial, and everything worked fine prior to us getting the Topfield.

It is frustrating, as I think it is probably something simple, but it is very difficult to find out what!

Are you getting a signal through the other tuner which, if you have got the cabling correct, would suggest a fault with the Toppy itself.

Don't know, can't check because my husband is away until tomorrow, and he sorts it out as I don't understand it. I will show him your replies and ask him to check the cables when he gets home.

Many thanks for your help. It is appreciated. If the Toppy itself is faulty, hopefully we will get a replacement and all will be fine. Have you got one yourself and are you happy with it?
