I am having a BBQ on the Sunday of May Bank Holiday. Where as I know what food I am serving I am struggling with what to cater for my vegetarian guests. I have vegetable kebebs but would like to give them something else hot from the BBQ. Has anyone any suggestions.

Hi, a BBQ fave of mine is to take large flat mushrooms, take the stalk out, smoother with butter, garlic and some herbs of your choice, wrap in a tin foil parcel and put on the BBQ, usually take around 20-30 mins.. Lovely...

Also, potaotes, wine, garlic and hebs in a tin foil envelope on the BBQ is gorgeous for everyone..

Thanks Parker, what would you suggest for the end of the night, I make a big pot of chilli and bolegnaise for the meat eaters.I need a big pan of veggie warmer.

Hi Primular,

All sounds very tasty, yummy :o)

How about doing a seperate chilli for the vegetarians made from quorn mince? Can use all the same ingrediants just substitute the mince for quorn :o)

Also I remember going to a BBQ years ago and they had a whole salmon wrapped in tin foil cooking away, it was bloomin georgous!!

Hope you have a great evening whatever you dish up!

Halumi cheese is delicious - you could put it on the vegetable kebabs.

How about some whole frozen corn on the cobs which you can thaw through beforehand, or cook from frozen in boiling water for about 7 minutes and then just put on the BBQ to crispen up, although they're perfectly edible straight from the saucepan.
