bracing as in invigorating

: giving strength, vigor, or freshness
brac·ing·ly adverb
No - it means it has the same effect as having a bucket of cold water thrown at you. It makes you put your shoulders and square up to what the day has to offer.
In this instance it means fresh and invigorating

When I encountered this on my morning walk my first reaction was to turn back rather than carry n and get the full invigorating benefit of it.
Easy in " brace yourself" when you are going to be told something surprising ?
As in
Did you not feel a primordial urge to overcome the forces of nature and venture forth to hunt and gather in spite of them?
(I love bad weather, as long as it's not wet and I have a cardy and cosy slippers waiting for me at home...)
