These days we can (more or less) buy what we want at any time of year, but a few things are still special to my festive season ...

... pigs in blankets, sprouts on a stalk, roast chestnuts ...

... stollen, shortbread, tangerines ...

... turkish delight ...

... port, madeira ...

Dave, do get back to me on those wines. I'm just sat in a café now drinking a nuclear-strength americano, having just splashed out £31.99 on a bottle of Nyetimber which is rated as one of the best fizzes on the planet (by press and royalty no less).
