I have a bottle of ready-mulled wine. What fruit to put in it, and then do I simmer?

I don't bother with fruit just put a glass full in the microwave for 30 secs. Ding sounds and it is done.

I`d put slices of orange in it (I`d warm it in a pan so that the orange can infuse)

Orange and if you have any cinnamon sticks and star anise add that too
