I've just bought an osprey 2 mini wifi dongle and both my iPhone 4s and computer have connected to it but they both say not connected to the internet. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? The phone is showing it's got wifi and the PC is showing a yellow exclamation mark on the signal bar bottom right on the screen. The phone also says excellent signal strength. Thanks for any help on this one
With regards to your iPhone try resetting the network settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. No data will be lost only passwords for wifi.
It sounds to me like your devices are connecting to the dongle but the dongle isn't connected to the internet. Is there a good EE signal where you are? Is there any indication on the dongle to say whether or not it can "see" the internet?
Thanks both for your advice the computer is the main thing I want to connect as I've got a little data on the phone as for the ee signal strength it says excellent, and I live less than 200 yards from a 500 ft tv transmitter carrying all the mobile transmitters I've even stood outside to see if the signal improves, my partners phone is on ee and she's no problems with reception
If you've just bought the dongle, do you have to register it?
Do you have to buy a data allowance? If so have you and/or do you have to authenticate it?
When I right click on the signal strength bar at bottom right I get a basic map showing PC connected to dongle but dongle not connected to internet. It's got 1 red light showing over the 4g logo. If this is showing very poor signal strength I'm starting to wonder if it's receiver is a bit"deaf" as you can't get closer to the transmitter than I am
