My husband and I are getting divorced. He is keeping our 4 endowment policies and will continue payments to cover his new mortgage. I want him to remove the life cover part of the endowments on my life but he is saying this prohibitively expensive. Is this correct?

Sorry but I don't really understand the question. However, in a similar situation, my wife has taken over our endowment policies and what she does with them is up to her as she is now paying for them. Also, remember that what they were worth at the time of separation is part of the "pot" of money that has to be split between you.

The life cover stays on the policy as he has insurable interest at the time you both took out the policies.i don't think it's a matter of removing the cover. You could suggest he swaps to a repayment mortgage , encashes the policies and takes out cheap pension term assurance.

A good company for dealing with this is found at www.policycheck.co.uk
