ive had hep b 5 years ago and i drink alcohol regualary. docror told me 4 years ago i need to stop dtinking full stop, albeit its only beer. i never drink water.
i got a few voicemails from the hospital last week when i returned from holiday , i needed to get in touch with liver specialist right away, i made appointment last friday morning, doc told me there was now something wrong with both kidneys and liver. they took another 15 vials of blood from me and doctors told me to make sure im back in hospitel for these next results . meanwhile last week i had very bad flu like sympoms, chills aches, nausea, white stools, very dark brown urine indicating to me that it was a liver problem, meanwhile im still getting massive night sweats , actually the mattress is soaking wet, ive lost 4-5kg in a week. today i feel ok. ive actually been at gym 3 times last week and i will go today.
can squad or anyone else shed any light on what could be wrong ? im apprehensive of these new bloods coming back and getting bad news on 6 jan.
anyone ever been through this ? had family members with the same ?
thanks

I would from a non medical point of view drink lots and lots of water for a few weeks to let everything repair itself and try stay off the booze!
To stay off booze I use Kratom but I dont know if thats any better for your organs. Probably not. anyway good luck!

In simple terms.......all is not well with your liver.
Is it Alcohol related ...alcoholic hepatitis OR is it totally unrelated to your alcohol consumption and is due to an infection.....Hepatitis B or C.
Don't jump to conclusions as only blood tests will give you the answer , my guess being Hepatitis B.........but only a guess.
You will need an Ultrasound and possibly a liver biopsy to identify the problem.
This is a simplistic answer to a question that may need a Specialist approach.

Not criticising sqad but detox and staying off all things man made for a while does you wonders. You should do this 2 days a week to give your body time to heal / get back to normal. I know you can't get a hose and flush it out but pills are not the answer to everything.
Most pills given are not required and are just made to make people rich. Some anyway,

DD if you can't sleep without drinking alcohol, you have a drinking problem. You will need to address this as part of your healing. As others have said, no pills exist that can do this for you.
Sometimes antabuse is prescribed for acute alcoholics, but this is has extremely unpleasant effects and will only work as part of a programme that centres on desire to stop consuming alcohol.
Talk candidly to your GP, or to your hospital doctor, about your condition and ask for options with practical conatcts to follow up.

I feel for you. You know you have problems but you've been unable to take control like many, many others.
Hopefully when you get the results they won't be as bad as you're expecting and then you can start being proactive. This has been a shock for you and it just might kick start the determination to make the changes you need to, so that you can stay healthy.
In the meantime, try not to worry too much and cut back on the booze.

Some may recall I was worried about how much I was drinking before Xmas. Some nice replies I had too. (Thanks UKA)
Anyway, still not having a drink, apart from a glass of Asti Xmas day, I am still having problems with the sleeping, but I asked a long term alcoholic about it, and his advice was to tire myself as much as possible before bedtime, both physically and mentally.
Doing what I can physically, and game on my tablet in bed, when I start to feel tired, tablet off and R4 on (or R4 ex)
Getting passable night's sleep now, hope you can manage similar, sorry for your problems.
(ps - a stone lighter too)
