Hello Again-And Happy New Year To You All!

To anyone who may have been wondering about my absence from here - it is not the technical bods fault, I'm sure. Just before Xmas, svejk determined to enable me to post quotes from newspapers. I got encouraged and decided to really have a go at conquering my technophobia. I drew a breath and hit the first key in the instructions- the screen went black. I decided that the machine was probably worried about my new probings, so switched it off and left it until the next day - when restarted it showed nothing but a pale blue screen!


Turned out that the 'graphics board' had died. So, eventually, I bought a new laptop (decent price) and it has sat in its box until yesterday, when someone put in 2 and a half hours to help me get it going.

I'm really struggling with this keyboard and Windows 10.It was all so much easier a few years ago.

I had hoped to make the Xmas party and sat there in my tinsel bikini until all hope was gone. (Taken me ages to type this, hate this version.)


However, love to all my friends and happy 2016!

Happy New Year, jourdain - hope it's a good one for you.

I have found very little difference from 7 to 10, more flexibility on fonts and their applications in Word, the only downside being their solitaire packages are bit ropey and one Windows 8 hangover that resulted in warning messages from Microsoft but they sorted that out efficiently on line.

Thank you all for the 'welcome back' comments. Hate this windows, just lost my previouscomment. It warbles at me and jams. I trained as a touch-typer and this b8888y thing stops at 60 wpm. The blue circle keeps whirring round and nothing happens. Took me ages to get the strength to come on line.
