I must admit this surprised me for two reasons - firstly, as just one word it doesn't make as much sense as "oh, they're tired", secondly they do seem to hold that first syllable for a while, which you would be more likely to do if saying "oh, they're tired" (accent or not, most people wouldn't say "ohhhvertired").
I'm not saying the "overtired" camp is wrong, just looking at it logically.

apparently this question was asked in 2005 on here and Vauxhall confirmed it was overtired.... see above :o)
