Duty Free Cigarette Allowance
My daughter is in Mexico on holiday and would like to know how many cigarettes she may bring home.
I know the European allowance is 200 but I think that the overseas allowance used to be higher.
Which Government department do I contact to find out to find out, please?
Thank you.

Yes you can bring in as much booze and cigarettes as you like from the EU provided it has been duty paid in an EU country and provided it is for your own use only. However, as Prudie says, you may be challenged if you carry more than the guidelines and you have to convince HMRC that the goods are for your own use.
There is no "duty free" allowance within the EU.
